A Little Guide to Commissioning Your Doll
Every doll begins with a little spark: a colour, an expression, a character or a story you want to hold in your hands. A commission gives us space to explore that idea together.
01 ยท Bring your inspiration
Send us reference images, a favourite colour palette, your preferred doll type, budget and delivery country. Tell us which details matter most to you. You do not need a finished design before getting in touch.
02 ยท Shape her character
We will discuss the available base or face sculpt, face-up, eyes, hair, outfit and any special details. References help us understand your taste; the finished doll is our handmade interpretation, with her own expression and character.
A doll that has already found a home can inspire a new creation. Hand-painted and sculpted details vary, so an identical recreation is not possible.
03 ยท Agree on the scope and quote
Before you pay, we will confirm what is included, any optional work, the total price, shipping arrangements and estimated timing. The price of an existing doll is not an automatic quote for a new commission.
- BJD deposit: US$20.
- Big-Eye doll deposit: US$40.
Your deposit is part of the agreed total, not the full price of a doll. Custom eyes, mohair wigs, bespoke outfits and other special requests depend on the doll type and agreed design; feasibility and any additional cost are discussed individually.
04 ยท Time in the studio
Big-Eye commissions take approximately 1โ2 months to create and are dispatched within 2โ5 business days once completed. Please confirm the estimate for BJD commissions and any additional work with us. Production time and delivery time are separate.
Materials, design complexity and the current studio queue can affect the schedule. If you have a special date in mind, tell us before booking.
05 ยท Meet your finished doll
We share photos or a video of the finished work before shipment. The remaining agreed balance and shipping fee are paid before dispatch. Please discuss your preferences clearly when planning your doll; any requested changes need to be agreed with the studio.
Handmade means individual
Small differences in colour, expression and hand-finished details are part of every piece. Confirm the materials, clothing and accessories included in your own commission rather than assuming everything in a reference photo is included.
